Thanks for liking us! Sadie and I really appreciate all the love!
April Showers took on new meaning here today…
Just kidding. April Fool’s!
Today’s aquatic adventures actually involved a bath for my little one.
I always give Sadie a bath a few days before her flea / tick / heartworm medication is due. She does not enjoy a bath, but her protests are mostly limited to giving my sad pathetic puppy eyes. What she really hates is the flea and tick medication. As soon as I apply it on her back she takes off running around the house like crazy trying to get it off of her. Then she ignores me for the rest of the night as my punishment for doing something as horrible as trying to keep her healthy. At least it’s only once a month.
Reminder to all you pet parents who are on a beginning of the month schedule – it’s April 1st. Time to torture our pets with love and give them their flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
Today is the first day of the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge!

Aww. Poor wet puppy. All for the best though.
I’ll take Sadie’s bath for her. I love water in any way, shape, or form.

I think Sadie would make her protests more vocal if the bath were full of water. Looks to me as if you are doing it exactly right. I haven’t got a dog blog but I am doing the A-Z challenge. Sadie enticed me to come in.

Adorable, but so sad! That’s the kind of face Tig gives me when its bath time… between that and the shaking she attempts to make me feel like the worst dogmom ever 🙂 We do natural preventatives, but bathing is important for that too and a great opportunity to check for any lumps or bumps. Happy AtoZchallenge!

Luna isn’t a fan of baths either. We use lavender shampoo for a calming affect and play calm music. We also give her some treats for being good and that all makes it a bit better! Good luck with the challenge!

When I had my old cat Micky, we used to have to put baby socks on his paws to bath him so he couldn’t scratch us or hang on to us when were trying to keep him in the water.
It mostly worked.

I’m glad I’m not the only one with a dog that hates flea preventative! I’ve been giving Kayo an oral medicine which she has enjoyed because they taste like beef. But they don’t prevent ticks so I’ve just switched to a topical one and she gave me the nastiest look after I put it on. She no likey!

My dogs have learned to love baths – we spread peanut butter on the shower walls :). Keeps them occupied while we suds them down. Interesting about the flea and tick preventative, I don’t use it on my dogs so I don’t have a reference point but I wonder if it’s because it is a colder liquid and also smells chemically?

Few things are sadder than a sopping wet pup. But then they get a lot of satisfaction from shaking out all that water, spraying the bathroom walls and you! Do you find it easier to bathe dogs without any clothes on… or is that just me?
