YourDesignerDogBlog: The Adventures of Sadie the Yorkipoo
I’m not sure why someone randomly decided to put the word blog on a squeaky ball for dogs, but as soon as I saw it at the dollar store, I knew Sadie had to have it. Now Sadie is a dog with two blogs – one that I play with on the computer all the time, and one that squeaks that she can play with too!

This week’s 52 Snapshots of Life theme is favorite. It was obvious which photo to post today because there is only one clear favorite in Sadie’s life – her little squeaky balls. As I’ve talked about on many other occasions, Sadie’s absolute favorite toy is the little squeaky soccer ball seen in the above photo. Every day when we get home from work, Sadie asks for a new little squeaky ball. Although by now she must have a hundred of them piled around the house, I just can’t say no to her little face. It’s her reward, her favorite way to unwind after being good and quiet in our office all day. I love how happy and excited she gets with every new squeaky ball. The pure joy on her face when I get a brand new ball out of the closet is priceless.

Unfortunately for me, Sadie has figured out where I keep new toys that I haven’t given to her yet. At some point every day I can usually find Sadie sitting in front of the closet door, wishing that it would open and the new toys would jump out. If she sees me go near the closet, she runs over and looks expectantly from me to the closet, waiting for me to get her a toy. If I don’t immediately comply, Sadie grumbles, whines, and even barks at me to open the door and give up the toys. Sometimes I give in, but mostly I just ignore her in the futile hope that she’ll understand that she doesn’t get a new toy every time I go into the closet.
