Today is the official day of the year when you get to spoil your dog. If your house is like mine, then pretty much every day could be called Spoil Your Dog Day. But to make this official holiday special, I brought Sadie a special treat – her very own pupcake! I hope everyone gets the chance to spoil their pets with something extra special today!
This post is part of the BlogPaws Wordless Wednesday blog hop.
Sadie has a lot of fun playing with her puzzle toys. Playing in general is beneficial for dogs to feel happy and fulfilled, but playing with puzzle toys in particular brings out a dog’s curiosity and problem solving skills in wonderful ways. We have a few doggy puzzles in the house now, and although I only bring them out every once in a while, Sadie always seems to know exactly the right way to play to release her treats. In fact, when her Doggy Blocks puzzle arrived in the mail (read our review on that puzzle here), Sadie’s mind was already spinning, trying to figure out how to get some treats out of it before the puzzle was even out of the box!

Like most dogs, Sadie greatly enjoys bully sticks. She likes to keep one on the bed at all times and will periodically gnaw on it throughout the day whenever she feels an urge to chew. If Sadie can’t find her bully stick, she will search for it relentlessly in and around the bed. If I don’t have a new bully stick to give her, Sadie will whine and pout and search the bed over and over hoping a stick will magically appear. That’s why I was excited to learn about the new service Bully Bundles. Their job really is about making bully sticks magically appear – just in your mailbox, not in the bed. Bully Bundles is a bully stick subscription service where you sign up to receive a certain number of bully sticks each month and then the sticks are delivered right to your door.
Someone gave Sadie a bone this week that is so big I think it must have come from a dinosaur! She had an absolute blast carrying it around, burying and re-burying it all over the house. Normally I would worry about her eating a treat that large, but by the time Sadie settled down to nibble on the bone, she was exhausted. After only a minute or two gnawing away, Sadie fell asleep with the bone still in her paws!
