As Independence Day approaches, I look forward to celebrating the season with fireworks. I know that many dogs have problems with the loud noises associated with fireworks, but luckily for me, Sadie doesn’t mind them at all. Although the loud noises don’t upset her, Sadie does get nervous about being in a new place with crowds of people. All we need to solve that problem is arrive a little early and let Sadie sniff around and get comfortable. Normally it’s kind of boring and frustrating waiting for fireworks to begin anyway (you just know they never start on time), but with Sadie to keep me company and explore the park or parking lot we’re sitting in, the time passes much more quickly and Sadie gets more relaxed with her new setting. By the time the fireworks begin, Sadie is happy to sit back and enjoy the show with me. I never thought that seeing fireworks could get better, but seeing fireworks as part of a fun adventure with Sadie makes it that much more pawesome.

Sadie and I want to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!

Hope you can all enjoy a long weekend full of relaxing, barbecues, and fireworks. It’s a great time of year to spend some quality time with friends and family, both human and furry alike. Just remember to keep your pets close after dark – fireworks can be pretty scary when you don’t understand what they are.
