As Independence Day approaches, I look forward to celebrating the season with fireworks. I know that many dogs have problems with the loud noises associated with fireworks, but luckily for me, Sadie doesn’t mind them at all. Although the loud noises don’t upset her, Sadie does get nervous about being in a new place with crowds of people. All we need to solve that problem is arrive a little early and let Sadie sniff around and get comfortable. Normally it’s kind of boring and frustrating waiting for fireworks to begin anyway (you just know they never start on time), but with Sadie to keep me company and explore the park or parking lot we’re sitting in, the time passes much more quickly and Sadie gets more relaxed with her new setting. By the time the fireworks begin, Sadie is happy to sit back and enjoy the show with me. I never thought that seeing fireworks could get better, but seeing fireworks as part of a fun adventure with Sadie makes it that much more pawesome.

So here’s my adorable little Sadie giving me the evil glare of death. She spent a little too long out in the snow yesterday and her paws were absolutely freezing. So being a good mommy, I put a pair of socks on her to warm up her paws. I mean I couldn’t feel my own toes by the time we got back inside and all I wanted were some fuzzy, warm socks, so why not put some on my munchkin as well? Judging by the looks she gave me I think she would rather her paws fall off from frostbite than ever wear socks ever again.
