Sadie is so distracted this weekend that she’s actually put down her squeaky ball to watch her humans work. Sadie’s Grampy and I are hard at work on another DIY home improvement project. As usual our project is designed around making Sadie’s life better. This weekend’s task – a new backyard fence. We had to remove our old fence during our home renovations, but now that the inside is mostly complete, it’s time to finish the outside. So we are installing a sturdy new fence surrounding the yard so that Sadie can run and play in safety.
Sadie has actually never been in a fenced-in area where both she and I can feel like she’s totally safe. At various parks we are both worried about other dogs and people and never really relax. None of our friends or family have fenced in property either, so we just don’t have anywhere safe enough to be off-leash. I’m a bit overprotective, so I keep the leash on her at all times. I can’t wait until our yard is a safe place where Sadie can run around without a leash. I’m really excited to see how happy Sadie will be with her new backyard freedom.

Sadie’s helping out on an important home improvement project right now. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve done, but it is really tricky getting a good photo of this particular project. You’ll see what I mean very soon!
