A Good Combing- Sepia Saturday #20

I still haven’t had time to get Sadie to her groomer yet, so she has been seeing a lot of her comb recently. Just like with human hair, the longer her hair gets, the more knotted it becomes. And long, furry ears are not a good mix with wet dog food. I must have brushed her at least ten times over the last few days to get all the food and knots out. But luckily Sadie has grown to tolerate and even sometimes enjoy getting combed.

Sepia Saturday #19

Here is Sadie getting ready to climb her doggy stairs up to my bed. We’ve had these stairs in place for over a year now, but Sadie still needs to gather her courage before she uses them almost every time. She usually hesitates too much and has a couple of false starts before she gains the momentum to attempt the stairs. I’m pretty sure she just overthinks it and scares herself, because when she is really excited and her attention is focused on playing, you can throw her squeaky ball onto the bed and she runs right up the stairs without a second thought.

Sadie is smiling over her new dog bed. She has multiple beds in various rooms of the house and at my work, but I find it useful to have extra. When one bed is dirty and needs to be washed, that’s when Sadie decides she must sleep in that spot. With an extra bed or two in the closet, I can just grab one to replace the bed that is missing. Judging by that smile, I’d say Sadie approves this new bed to join her rotation.
