Here is Sadie getting ready to climb her doggy stairs up to my bed. We’ve had these stairs in place for over a year now, but Sadie still needs to gather her courage before she uses them almost every time. She usually hesitates too much and has a couple of false starts before she gains the momentum to attempt the stairs. I’m pretty sure she just overthinks it and scares herself, because when she is really excited and her attention is focused on playing, you can throw her squeaky ball onto the bed and she runs right up the stairs without a second thought.
This post is part of Ruckus the Eskie‘s Sepia Saturday blog hop.
Thanks for liking us! Sadie and I really appreciate the love!
Hi there!
Thanks so much for joining Ruckus and Earl for Sepia Saturday!!
Lots of Woofs from Earl, Ethel and I at Earl’s World!
I guess you have to make the ball toss a standard feature of climbing into bed.

thanks for the post and the picture, and the tip about the ball. my older bichon just sits at the edge of the bed and stares at me for as long as it takes, and yes, i then lift her on to the bed. that’s the same dog who charges up the steps to our apartment, two at a time, when it’s time for dinner. instead of the squeaky ball, i may just start putting her dinner in the middle of the bed.
nah, i am too well trained, and she’s too cute. i’ll probably be lifting her up and down until it’s curtains for one of us!
Super adorable! Happy Sepia Saturday!
Yay Sadie and her stairs. What a cutie!
Rooney hesitates when using his stairs too. Since he hurt his back a few months ago, we have been trying to get him used to them, but he still doesn’t love the idea.
