Sadie has a new cozy addition to her wardrobe – a Gold Paw Series Stretch Fleece. With Winter still bringing the snow around, this Stretch Fleece is perfect to keep Sadie nice and warm.
As soon as I received this sweater, it was obvious this is a high quality fleece. This is not your average discount, big box store dog sweater. This is like doggie couture. In fact, when Sadie was showing off her new Gold Paw Series Fleece to her Grampy, he asked if they made them for humans too. He said the material was so warm and soft he would love to wear one himself, in a more masculine color of course. The material is the perfect kind for spending time outdoors in the cold – it’s light weight so your dog can move freely and easily, but it keeps in body heat so your dog can stay toasty warm.
Somehow a dog seems to be a magnet for dirt, dust, mud, and other unidentifiable substances. If your dog happens to be wearing a sweater, than that sweater bears the brunt of the mess. But it’s not a problem with this Stretch Fleece, as it is machine washable. That is a big plus in my household, where some of Sadie’s other sweaters and jackets actually claim to be dry clean only. I love that Sadie can wear this sweater wherever and whenever she needs to, in rain or snow or mud, and I can just throw it in the wash when she’s done. And better still, Gold Paw Series backs their Stretch Fleeces with a guarantee – just contact this family owned company and they will make repairs for free.
The Gold Paw Series Stretch Fleeces are pullovers, just like people sweaters. If you have a particularly wiggly dog it may pose a challenge to get the sweater over his or her head, but the material is nice and stretchy so you should be able to get the fleece on your dog without too much trouble. The good thing about it being an over the head sweater is that it will stay on your dog. Sadie has a lot of Velcro dresses and jackets and the Velcro is always coming loose or getting stuck on something. But this Stretch Fleece stays perfectly on Sadie without bothering her or restricting any of her movement. Unfortunately there is no harness attachment or hole for a leash with these fleeces, so we won’t be using this sweater to go on walks, but it’s great for running around in the backyard or hanging out indoors when it’s a little chilly.
One aspect I like about the dog clothing from this company is the size range. It’s not just small, medium, or large, where nothing ever fits quite right. Instead, Gold Paw Series uses a number system like human clothing. The dog sizes run from 2 to 30, which according to the helpful examples fits everyone from a Chihuahua puppy up to a Great Dane. Using the sizing chart to compare Sade’s weight and measurement, we ended up with a size 14. I always buy a size larger than necessary for Sadie because I like her to be fully covered and not have to squeeze into the outfit, so if the Fleece looks a little long in Sadie’s photos, that’s a good thing. I was extremely pleased that the Stretch Fleece fit exactly the way I wanted a sweater to fit.
Gold Paw Series products are proudly sewn in the USA. You can get your own stretch fleece in one of sixteen different colors for $20-$36, depending on the size. Sadie’s fleece is the Mulberry Plaid in case you were wondering. Visit the Gold Paw Series website to see all the adorable options for your dog.

I received a free sample of this product to evaluate on my own. All opinions are my own, based entirely on my personal experience with this product.
It sure looks toasty warm and it is pretty too.
She looks adorable in it and I love the colors! If you read my post you know that I tried a sweatshirt with Delilah. It worked fairly well but it didn’t have a hole for the harness either. What I did was used Sampson’s harness on her so it went OVER the sweatshirt. If you really like the idea of Sadie wearing it on walks, you could see about adjusting her harness to fit over it. Or if you don’t mind spending the money, get a spare harness.
Thank you so much for joining the blog hop!
