April has definitely been living up to its reputation around here. We’ve had April showers every day of the month so far. Sadie and I are starting to get sick of umbrellas and wet paws. I really hope the May flowers will be worth all this rain.

Sadie is dressed as a woopie cushion today in honor of April Fools’ Day, the one day of the year that celebrates pranksters and practical jokers. If you think Sadie is playing a practical joke on you by claiming that she is wearing a real woopie cushion costume, you’d be mistaken. You really can buy a costume to dress your dog as a woopie cushion. Not surprisingly, I purchased this lovely outfit on clearance and decided that April Fools’ Day is the one and only day in the year that it’s appropriate for Sadie to wear.

This week’s 52 Snapshots of Life theme is foolish. To go with this topic, I would like to share a few photos of what I think is Sadie’s most foolish habit – finding the most uncomfortable place for a nap. In these two photos, Sadie has worked hard to move all of the comfortable options out of the way to get to that cold, hard, wooden flooring. Why sleep on one of two dog beds or a nice soft carpet or even a comfy human bed when you can nap on some bamboo? I know dogs usually pick the floor when looking for a cool place to lie down, but Sadie will sometimes sleep like this in the middle of a blizzard in winter. To me this is the epitome of foolishness – I just don’t get it.
