Happy Mother’s Day!

Every year on Star Wars Day, I dress Sadie up as one of our favorite characters (this year’s character is R2D2!) and then we have a movie marathon. Unfortunately Sadie doesn’t quite understand how sitting on the couch in front of the TV on May the 4th is different from sitting on the couch in front of the TV every other day. So to make Star Wars Day more special for Sadie this year I’ve added a new element to the festivities – balloons! Now while we watch our movies, Sadie and I can play balloon catch and balloon fetch and Sadie can chase balloon Darth Vader all over the house!

Since Spring still isn’t cooperating outside, Sadie decided to bring some Spring indoors with this fun little photo shoot. Doesn’t she look cute as a button dressed up as a little lady bug?

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s….a giant butterfly? Sadie was so proud that she captured this massive critter! I didn’t have the heart to tell her that this giant winged beast is actually a balloon on a string.

Sadie tried to run away with one of the balloons from the birthday party this weekend. She attempted to squirrel it away in her dog house for safe keeping. But there was one problem: Sadie couldn’t fit through the door with the balloon in her mouth. After a lot of trial and error, Sadie finally managed to push the mischievous balloon into her house with her nose. But then she couldn’t fit herself inside with her prize. After several attempts concluding in the balloon escaping every time she tried to turn around inside the dog house, Sadie got frustrated. At that point I took pity on her and handed her the balloon while she was already situated in her house. Sadie was finally content with her balloon safely in her dog house. But all that balloon wrangling was hard work, so Sadie took a nap next to her prize.
