Sadie and I haven’t posted much in the last couple of weeks and you may have noticed why – our blog got a makeover. Unfortunately it was not an intentional makeover. I just signed on one afternoon to find all sorts of errors and even the dreaded white screen of death! (For those of you who aren’t familiar with WordPress, the white screen of death is when you don’t have any access to the technical side of your blog so you can’t even log in to figure out the problem.) Eventually I had to just start deleting plugins and files until I figured out that our theme had crashed. Hence the sudden and unplanned makeover. Some things are still acting a little funny at the moment, but hopefully I’ll get all the bugs worked out soon and everyone can enjoy our new look.

 

In the meantime I hope you enjoy the digital art piece above that represents Sadie over the past couple of weeks. I explained to Sadie that her blog was broken, and while she didn’t seem nearly as upset about it as I was, she very patiently kept me company through all of my struggles with uncooperative technology.

Sadie is trying out a new hair color for the new year. I told her that red might be a little drastic and might not go well with her tail, but Sadie wanted to try something bright and bold. She really enjoyed her new look for a few hours, but got annoyed when her flowing red locks kept getting into her food. Sadie is glad she didn’t make any permanent changes and can just put her red wig back on when she’s in the mood for a change again.

So I’ve been working hard these last couple days giving this blog a makeover. I think it looks pretty good now and, more importantly, it seems to be working well. Hopefully everyone is liking the new theme as much as I am and no one is having any issues with it. Apparently my old theme worked in some web browsers but not in others. Very weird.
Anyway, this photo captures Sadie’s bored face as she watches me tapping away on my tablet all day yesterday. I felt guilty so we ended up taking four walks yesterday – fun for Sadie and good for me to walk around and take some breaks from the computer screen. I also gave her a few new toys to entertain herself, like the broccoli she’s using as a pillow in the photo. Unfortunately for the broccoli, he met his untimely demise shortly after this picture was taken. But he served his purpose well, and Sadie was happily entertained ripping him apart while I finished the blog makeover.
