Sadie has been enjoying Shark Week by spending some quality time with her shark bed. She played catch from the comfort of her pink shark. She buried a bone or two beneath the fluffy pink jaws. And of course she had quite a few naps. Clearly she was not happy that the puparazzi interrupted this particular nap time.
This holiday season I’ve decided to switch out Sadie’s living room dog bed with a more festive reindeer dog bed. At first Sadie wasn’t sure she liked her new reindeer bed. She didn’t really want to sleep in it or lay in it. But one day as she was looking for a good place to bury a treat, she discovered a much better use for her new dog bed. Between the side bumpers and the bottom cushion of the bed is a little space that is perfect for hiding things! Thankfully Sadie is not the kind of dog that likes to hide other people’s belongings, so aside from her treats, Sadie had only one item in mind for her new hiding spot – her little squeaky soccer balls.
It’s now become a daily game for Sadie and I to play, which I call the reindeer game. When Sadie gets in the mood to play, she squeaks her ball for a while and then runs and places it in her reindeer bed. If I’m not paying attention, she then whines until I come over to do my part. I stuff the ball firmly in the crevice of the reindeer bed and then flip the bed over. Sadie immediately starts digging into the underside of the bed. She knows she has to get her reindeer flipped back over to get the ball out, but sometimes she just enjoys the digging for a bit. Then she head butts the bed until she gets the right leverage to flip it. Once the reindeer is right side up again, Sadie can then dig her ball out and start all over again. Take a look at the videos below to see the reindeer game in action!
Sadie considers herself an expert athlete, especially when it comes to playing catch. So today she wanted to share a few words of advice to her fellow athletes from around the world who are giving it their all in the Olympic Games.
“The only sure way to succeed in any ball related sport is to make sure you keep your eyes on the ball!” – Sadie the Yorkipoo.
In these portraits of Sadie you get to see that twinkle in her eye she gets every time she plays with a new squeaky ball. It’s plain to see her excitement and the energy radiating off of her in these electrifying pieces of digital art.
