Every year on Star Wars Day, I dress Sadie up as one of our favorite characters (this year’s character is R2D2!) and then we have a movie marathon. Unfortunately Sadie doesn’t quite understand how sitting on the couch in front of the TV on May the 4th is different from sitting on the couch in front of the TV every other day. So to make Star Wars Day more special for Sadie this year I’ve added a new element to the festivities – balloons! Now while we watch our movies, Sadie and I can play balloon catch and balloon fetch and Sadie can chase balloon Darth Vader all over the house!

Sadie is wearing her pretty pink Princess Leia dress today in honor of the new Star Wars movie that opens tomorrow. Although I don’t go to the movie theater often, this is one movie I definitely want to see on the big screen. But I’ll probably wait a few weeks until I don’t have to worry about it being sold out anymore. Do any of you plan to brave the crowds and go opening night/weekend?

Sadie is celebrating Star Wars Day today by wearing her new Princess Leia costume. She’s posing with her new Yoda basket, which she’s been using as a hiding place for treats and squeaky balls all weekend. Sadie can easily drop a bone or ball into the basket, but unfortunately Yoda’s head is too tall to get her items back out. All weekend I’d be summoned to the living room by annoyed groaning and barking, which is Sadie’s way of requesting help to retrieve something she can’t reach.
