Sadie is looking cool in her purple shades on National Sunglasses Day!
YourDesignerDogBlog: The Adventures of Sadie the Yorkipoo
Sadie is dressed and ready to celebrate the first official day of Summer! After a wet and gloomy start to the week, it’s nice to enjoy some sun and spend some quality time outdoors, especially on the longest day of the year.

It’s over 100 degrees out today, for the third day in a row. Definitely the type of weather that guarantees tongues will be out this Tongue Out Tuesday. But it is just too hot to play outside today, so Sadie decided to try on her special patriotic outfit in preparation for Flag Day tomorrow. Luckily the heat is supposed to break tonight, so Sadie and I plan on enjoying a nice Flag Day walk to enjoy our city’s special holiday display of flags.
I thought this sunflower hat would be the perfect fashion accessory for my little Sadie. It’s adorable, it has sunglasses, what more could you ask for? But in some of these photos my Sadie does not seem to be enjoying her new hat as much as I am. You might be thinking, “Poor, Sadie, forced to wear a stupid hat that is probably too tight or uncomfortable.” But believe it or not, it’s not the hat that has Sadie looking so pouty. It’s the grass. My dog would rather be a person most days. And as most people would agree, it’s much better to sit on a comfy chair than on the grass. So as soon as I allowed Sadie to get off the grass and onto the chair, she was smiling ear to ear, even in her silly sunflower hat.

When you are putting sunglasses on a dog and trying to take pictures of the cuteness, you would assume that your most difficult challenge will be keeping the sunglasses on your dog. But as these bloopers prove, Sadie is a very well behaved model and I seem to be the one causing the problems. What good are sunglasses on your dog if your camera woman can’t seem to focus the camera or keep your dog in the frame? While Sadie stayed nice and still, apparently that day I was unable to stop from moving the camera all over the place, messing up the photos.
