Sadie has discovered that used wrapping paper makes a great place to bury a bone. Unfortunately she buried it a little too well – I had to rescue Sadie’s treat when she couldn’t find her needle in the haystack.

No Peeking!
Over the last few day I’ve been working on wrapping Christmas presents. I’ve got a few gifts for friends and family under the tree, along with one present for Sadie. Dog toys are really annoying to wrap, in my opinion, since they are oddly shaped. Plus if I accidentally squeak the toy during the wrapping process, Sadie comes running over, begging for the new toy. So I usually put off wrapping Sadie’s toys until the very last minute, hence only one of her presents being under the tree at this point.
Anyway, Sadie wakes up from a nap and notices that there are now presents under the tree. She goes over and gives each one a thorough sniff inspection. Suddenly she starts tearing and clawing at one, trying to get it open. Of the dozen or so presents under the tree, Sadie has found the only one for her and decided to open it. Since it is Sadie’s present, she’s already ruined the wrapping paper, and she seems so excited about unwrapping it, I let her have her fun. Sadie finally gets the toy free and starts running around the room shaking it, celebrating her victory. And that’s when I notice what the toy actually is – a present shaped rope toy with the words “No Peeking” on it. I found it absolutely hilarious – Sadie decided to open early the one present that’s actually labeled no peeking until Christmas!
