Sadie got a new haircut this week, and for once, she was pretty happy about it. As usual she was nervous during the car ride to the groomer, and tried to hide in the car instead of being taken inside. But once she was finished and I went to pick her up, she was thrilled. Normally she pouts and ignores me the rest of the day; sometimes she even acts out by destroying something or peeing on the rug to get back at me for taking her to the groomer. But this time Sadie came home all smiles, glad to be rid of all that hair in this warm weather. I waited a little longer than usual between grooming appointments this time, and I felt bad that she seemed so hot and uncomfortable while waiting those extra couple of weeks until she could be groomed. But if waiting a few extra days or weeks means Sadie actually appreciates her groomer visit and will come home a happy pup, maybe it is worth the wait.
